The Masters makeup alum Danica is crushing it as a freelance makeup artist right now! Read on to find out where she gets her creative inspo, her career goals for the future, and her favourite parts about studying at The Masters.

What do you love about makeup? Where do you draw inspiration from?

I love making my client feel amazing and getting to see a look come together to create something beautiful. I like to look on Pinterest and Instagram for inspo—I also get inspired by new palettes! At the moment I’m loving @makeupwithanh, @tredallas, and @makeupby.dani on Instagram.

What did you enjoy about studying at The Masters?

I had so many industry opportunities offered to me whilst studying! I worked backstage at MFW2019, Viceta Wang SS20, The Masters Awards Night 2019, Project T.M. 2019, and collaborated with designer Kiara Mehmet for Myer Emerging Designers at The Melbourne Cup! All the experiences I had were absolutely amazing. Working Melbourne Fashion Week was such a big thing for me as I got to work alongside makeup artists from Mecca, watch Kevin Murphy work his magic on hair, and even scored tickets to see a few runway shows I had worked on. I really feel that these experiences helped me achieve all thatI have achieved today.

What are your goals for the next few years?

My goals are to work at more runways like Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney or even overseas at Milan Fashion Week! I’d also love to become a successful freelance makeup artist in my area.
