We love seeing what our amazing alumni are achieving after they graduate from The Masters! We caught up with 2018 Beauty Student of the Year Frances, now working as a Beauty Therapist at Natskin, to chat about what she learned while studying with us, her tips for maintaining healthy skin throughout winter, and her plans for the future.

What did you love about your time at The Masters?

BEAUTY STUDENT OF THE YEAR ✨

A post shared by Frances Beauty Therapist Melb (@fransbeautyworld_) on

My year studying at The Masters was an amazing year! It was super busy, but I learned so much and made friends for life. My highlight of the year was winning Beauty Student of the Year in 2018. The culture was so friendly and caring—it really made us want to study! My lovely teachers played the biggest role in helping me finish the course and helping me be the Beauty Therapist I am today.

What area of beauty therapy do you love the most? What beauty trends are you seeing a lot of this year?

Facials! I love helping clients change their skin and seeing their improvement. I really love making clients happy. Some of the bigger trending beauty services for 2020 are lash lifts, epiblading, and brow lamination. I’d love to learn how to henna brows and more about skin needling and epi blading!

Do you have any tips or products to help keep your skin healthy during winter?

Drink plenty of water! Make sure you’re using a Vitamin B serum and a hydrating moisturiser that’s thicker than the moisturiser you’d use in summer. I recommend Sothys Hydra Youth Cream—it has hyaluronic acid in it, which helps contain the moisture in the skin. I’m also loving Aspect Extreme B, a Vitamin B serum that helps protect the skin acid mantle, which is what allows the skin to stay hydrated. And if you’re in need of a little extra boost to help fight dryness, I’d recommend going with Sothys Nutri-Soothing Mask—it’s a beautiful mask that helps keep the skin smooth and hydrated while also reducing redness and bacteria.

What are your goals for the next few years?

I see myself continuing to learn more and more treatments and learning more about the skin. Someday I hope to run my own beauty business!

What advice would you give to students who are considering studying at The Masters?

The Masters was the best decision I made. The culture is amazing and they help you out so much and are so friendly. They give you so many opportunities—I wouldn’t have wanted to study anywhere else!
