Learn & Create: Breathe Life into a new garment using UpCycling techniques
1-Day Workshop | Saturday, 26th September | 10.00AM—4.00PM
Do you have an old garment that is taking up space in your wardrobe? Do you love visiting vintage markets and hunting out unique clothing finds? Join The Masters Institute of Creative Education for a single-day workshop and turn an abandoned item into a shiny new treasure!
This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2020, an initiative by Creative Victoria in partnership with NGV
The Workshop is held on campus at Level 3, 185 Spring Street, Melbourne
What we cover
You will explore the cultural movement of upcycling and the importance of sustainable fashion before delving into the upcycling process. Using simple sewing techniques our team will help you deconstruct your old garment before reconstructing it into something you will love for years to come.
Prior Skills & Preparation
No prior skills necessary. This workshop is open to all skill levels. Experts will gain new insight into upcycling trends and techniques whilst novices will explore a new discipline and have ample on hands assistance from our team.
We ask that all students bring a garment with them that they wish to create into a new item.
