Close-set eyes

Close-set eyes are quite close together. Therefore, your shadow is going to focus on width. When applying your shadow, ensure that you're only applying darker colours on the outer corner of your eyes and lighter colours on the inner corners.

Celebrities who have this eye shape are Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston, and Kristen Bell

Down-turned eyes

Down-turned eyes tend to tilt downwards on the outer corner. To lift your eyes, apply lighter shadow on the inner corners and transition to darker hues toward the outer corners, dragging your eyeshadow in an upwards direction.

Celebrities who have this eye shape are Anne Hathaway, Katy Perry, and Marilyn Monroe

Deep-set eyes

Deep-set eyes are more settled in the socket. Use lighter colours on the majority of the lid and dark colours on the outer corner to help bring your eyes forward. Applying a slight highlight to the brow bone will also assist in bringing your eyes out of their socket!

Celebrities who have this eye shape are Cameron Diaz, and Taylor Swift

Almond eyes

Almond eyes resemble an almond-like shape: even dimensions with upswept outer corners. You can apply almost any technique to this eye shape, but applying a darker shadow to the socket of the lid and sweeping the shadow out and upwards on the outer corners will really make this eye shape pop.

Celebrities who have almond eyes are Mila Kunis, Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson

Hooded eyes

Hooded eyes are when the eyelids sit over the crease of the eyes. Create depth on the mobile lid using medium/dark shades and then blend your colour upward and out of the crease. Applying highlight on the brow bone will enhance this eye shape even further.

Celebrities who have hooded eyes are Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Blake Lively

Protruding eyes

Protruding eyes tend to sit outside of the socket. Applying medium to dark shadow colours on both the mobile lid and lower lash line will reduce the appearance of protruding eyes. Bringing the brow bone forward with highlight will also create the illusion that the eyes are not so far out of the socket.

Celebrities who have protruding eyes are Emmy Rossum and Amanda Seyfried
